The latest model in the ‘Moskva’ series of cameras. The camera featured a die-cast body, equipped with an ‘Industar-24’ 3.5/105 lens, allowing for 6×9, 6×6 frame sizes. It had rangefinder focusing coupled with movement of the front lens frame. The viewfinder was optical. The camera included a mechanism to prevent double exposure, a flash synchronization contact. The ‘Moment-24C’ shutter offered speeds from 1/250s to 1s + ‘B’, equipped with a self-timer and synchronization contact. A total of 216,457 units were produced.
Technical Specifications
- Type of film used: 120 type film (roll film).
- Frame size: 6×9 or 6×6 cm on 120 type film. To switch to a 6×6 cm frame size, a special frame included in the camera set is inserted into the film channel.
- On a 120 type film: 8 frames sized 6×9 cm or 12 frames sized 6×6 cm can be obtained.
- Camera body: Die-cast and covered with artificial leather.
- Folding body: After folding the front panel, the lens mount mechanism and central shutter are automatically extended using a lever system.
- Removable rear panel.
- Lens: “Industar-24”, focal length 105 mm, relative aperture 1:3.5, single-layer coating.
- Iris diaphragm: Aperture values of 3.5, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22, 32.
- Central shutter: “Moment-24C”. Shutter speeds from 1 second to 1/250 second and “B”.
- Flash synchronization: “X” contact, synchronization speed with a flash — any.
- Mechanical self-timer.
- Viewfinder: Optical, not coupled with a rangefinder. Unlike earlier models of the “Moscow” family, it is not foldable but firmly integrated into the camera’s top cover. There is a switch for shooting in the 6×6 cm format (a frame limiting frame is extended between the lens and the viewfinder eyepiece).
- Range focusing: Coupled with a rangefinder, connected to the rotation of the lens front element, focusing from “infinity” to 1.5 meters. A rotating optical wedge is used in the rangefinder design.
- Cocking the shutter and film winding are separate. Film winding using numbers on the roll film cord. There are two closable windows with red light filters on the back wall of the camera. A switch located on the inner surface of the back cover allowed choosing a frame size of 6×6 cm or 6×9 cm only when reloading the camera.
- The camera has a multiple exposure prevention mechanism: The release button remains locked until the film winding knob is turned several times. However, as in other cameras of the “Moscow” family, multiple exposure is possible. To do this, the shutter must be released using a lever located on the lens mount.
- The camera is equipped with two tripod sockets with a 3/8-inch thread for securing the camera in vertical and horizontal positions.
