The 1974 portable photo enlarger with automatic and manual focusing, UPА-5M, is designed for projection printing of black and white or color photographic images on photosensitive paper. Additional attachments allow the use of the photo enlarger for taking photographs, reproductions, macro photography, as well as portraits. The photo enlarger served as a versatile working apparatus for both amateur photographers and professionals.
The photo enlarger consists of a housing, a bracket with a stand, and a suitcase base. The illuminator housing is made of gray-colored metal, while the bracket and stand are made of chrome-plated metal. The base of the photo enlarger is a suitcase made of wood, covered with light-green-colored leatherette. The photo enlarger comes with a lens containing two lenses, with a tray for color filters mounted between them for use in color printing. Inside the illuminator, there is a diffuse electric lamp. The electric cord is white with a plug at the end and a black-colored toggle switch in the middle of the cord. The entire set is packed in a suitcase with a white handle, secured with two metal clasps.
